The third edition, taking place from 19 to 22 February 2025, will feature a programme of open showrooms and special exhibitions, product launches, talks and tours, social events, and the second year of the CTFW Awards. The programme takes place across over 25 venues in 4 different districts within Cape Town’s city centre, free to attend and open for the public to explore.
Cape Town Furniture Week is an independent organisation, led by Gareth Pearson and Aimée Pearson. Both share a love for design and craftsmanship, bringing people together, and contributing to the life and economy of the city. Gareth is the founder of Stadium Place Lab, an urban development and placemaking consultancy, and a graduate of the Cities Programme at the London School of Economics. Aimée’s background is in product design, having studied at Milan’s Scuola Politecnica di Design and worked at acclaimed CMF consultancy Baolab.
Cape Town Furniture Week is centred around a walkable programme of open showrooms and special exhibitions. All spaces are free and open to the public, with no tickets required, although some talks and tours require registration. Navigate the 2024 programme to get a sense of the festival schedule, and browse through our exhibitor directory to discover some of the exhibiting brands and designers. Printed maps will be available at participating locations over Furniture Week, with a downloadable version available too.
Cape Town Furniture Week is made possible through the active participation of its exhibitor community, as well as collaborative partners like VISI Magazine, and value-aligned sponsors like Jack Black’s Brewing Co., Habitus, and the Gorgeous George Hotel for the 2024 edition. We are committed to growing CTFW in a sustainable way, retaining the quality of experience while advancing the programme. We look forward to collaborating with aligned partners to expand the reach and impact of the platform in future editions.
Participation in Cape Town Furniture Week is by invitation or application, open to independent designer-makers, emerging brands, as well as established brands from Southern Africa and the rest of the world. The selection process ensures that the programme remains curated, accessible in size, consistent in experience, and progressive in content. While the standard is high, participation remains accessible through tiered participation fees and collective exhibition opportunities. Please contact us for consideration in the 2025 edition.
