The third annual edition of Cape Town Furniture Week takes place from 19 to 22 February 2025, featuring open showrooms, special exhibitions, talks, factory tours and other events. The design industry and general public are invited to discover new products and ideas by exhibiting designers and brands, to connect with peers in the industry, and to engage in conversations around design, craftsmanship, innovation and sustainability.
Cape Town Furniture Week is an independent organisation, led by partners Gareth Pearson and Aimée Pearson. Both share a love for design and craftsmanship, bringing people together, and contributing to the life and economy of the city. Gareth is the Director of Stadium Place Lab, a creative studio for better cities, a co-founder of First Thursdays South Africa, and a graduate of the Cities Programme at the London School of Economics. Aimée has a background in product design, having studied at Milan’s Scuola Politecnica di Design and worked at acclaimed CMF consultancy Baolab.
The exhibition programme free to attend, and takes place across over 50 locations within 5 walkable design districts, with this year's Festival Hub located at Church House. This part of the programme is open to the public, with no tickets required, and kicks off with Opening Night on Wednesday 19 February from 5pm to 8pm. Showrooms and exhibitions are then open to explore on Thursday and Friday from 10am to 5pm, and on Saturday from 10am to 2pm. An active programme of talks, tours and other special events will take place over the 4 days, with booking required for most events.
Cape Town Furniture Week is made possible through the active participation of its exhibitor community, as well as partnerships with aligned organisations. We extend our gratitude to this year's festival partners VISI Magazine, Church House, and Babylonstoren, as well as programme partners Blok, the South African Future Trust, Jack Black's Brewing Company, PG Bison, the Italian Consulate, and ICON Magazine.
Participation in Cape Town Furniture Week is by invitation or application, open to independent designer-makers, emerging and established brands, and a growing number of international brands. The selection process ensures that the programme remains curated, accessible in size, consistent in experience, and progressive in content. While the standard is high, participation remains accessible through tiered participation fees and collective exhibition opportunities. Applications for 2026 will open from July.
